Competitive advantage is communicated in one of two ways. Happen to know which one you’re using?
Seriously, just two? Yes, just two.
- Master of an established domain
- Master of an unestablished domain
Just as simple as that. Well, maybe…
While a firm who uses innovation as their competitive advantage (i.e. Apple, 3M, Genentech, etc.) proves their worth with new product launches, this task is not so easy for those that follow others in an established arena.
So, I’m going to share a list of how I’ve seen these advantages be communicated. Please, feel free to add other options in the comments section.
- Expert
- Specialist
- Unique
- Measureable Benefit
- Easy to Use
- Improved Productivity
- Protection of Investment
- Market Specific
- Lowest Cost
- High Performance
- Design Aesthetics
- Quality Standards
- Total Solution
- Total Overall Cost
- Convenience
