Investors can find funding opportunities everywhere, but good opportunities still only come from a very few sources.
In order of usual preference:
- Referral from a previous successful investment or entrepreneur
- Referral from a trusted advisor
- Referral from another investor
- Individual pitch or online submission
Also keep these in mind that private investors typically have a horizon of 5-7 years and possess complementary experience & connections… so they expect to be used to grow their investment.
