Is Zimbra the OS Killer entrepreneurs have been looking for to increase productivity, interactivity and the viability of a truly mobile work force?
Although we’re just seeing the tip of the iceberg on Zimbra’s real potential (accounting and financial dashboard software integration, anyone?), it is seriously sleek, slick and powerful. Not to mention, relatively inexpensive enough for us bootstrappers.
To really understand where this could go, imagine everything on your desktop and in your My Documents folder - no longer at one place - pulled from the internet. With the ability to eventually social network from the workspace - twitter, digg, e-mail, talk, chat, etc.
Where are we going? Zero separation between location and connectivity.
To some, this is a huge negative. To an entrepreneur, this is a life-saver. A tool used to attract and keep the best and brightest. A tool to remove almost all geographic business barriers.
Goodbye to Microsoft, goodbye to Google’s baby-step solutions, hello to a new way to build and grow your business.
That is not to say that a competitor couldn’t compete directly - I expect them to. I’m speaking more to potential than the actual quality of this particular mouse trap, per se.
Tried Zimbra? What are your thoughts?
