If you have ever written a business plan before, you understand the difficulty in knowing when to stop writing. If you have answered the following 10 questions, you have achieved your goal.
- Who is the firm’s target market and why?
- Why will this target market purchase from your firm?
- What are the firm’s roadblocks to success?
- Why will management succeed?
- What will be the owner contribution ($, time, assets, IP, etc.)?
- What assets and people will be required?
- What is the expected required financial return?
- What is the proposed exit strategy?
- What is the funding requirement?
- Is there a clear tie between the financial, operational and marketing plans?
If you still seek objective evidence that you have completed your plan, try your local Small Business Development Center for a free business plan review.
