I feel compelled to address my previous post on word of mouth.
Having read and reviewed more business plans than I care to mention, I can recall that almost all of them, in some form or another, mentioned word of mouth as a marketing tactic.
To clarify my last post, word of mouth is not a tactic, it is a desired result.
Simply declaring in your plan that word of mouth will drive business cannot be considered a marketing plan, it is a wish - like saying your product will be better than what exists today. Both would be nice, neither happens without severe focus and meticulous planning.
